One of the biggest cultural institution is the Pommersche Landesmuseum. The museum exhibits paintings of Caspar David Friedrich.

The Greifswalder Logenhaus was a house of Freemasons 'Carl zu den drei Greifen', clubhouse of university and house of German-Soviet friendship. After vacancy family Lewerenz has bought the property in 2009. It was refurbished. A restaurant is located in the Greifswalder Logenhaus.

The wooden double-balance beam bridge was built from master shipwright Sprut more than 125 years ago. The river Ryck is spanned by the bridge. The building was inducted on 25th of July in 1887.

The former monastery is the nucleus of the city foundation and a motif of the romantic painter Caspar David Friedrich. It was founded in 1199. There are open air performances in the monastery ruin Eldena in summer.

Even at a distance you can see the big wings of the post mill Eldena. The former mill was listed in the inventory list of the monastery Hilda/Eldena in 1533. The grain was grind on the Mühlenberg in Eldena till 1932. After that the landmark of the Greifswalder district was ruinous and collapsed in 1972. The friends' association Eldenaer Mühle has rebuilt the mill on his own.
